Facebook is, first and foremost, a place for sharing. Sharing your thoughts, your feelings, your life events, and your photos. It’s there to help you document your life, for you and everyone around you. It’s a digital scrapbook.
It’s easy enough to add photos to Facebook through a post, but if you want to keep them more organized — especially if you have a lot of photos – the best way to do that is to make an album.
Albums are exactly what they sound like — they’re the folders in your computer’s file explorer, there to help you keep track of which pictures are from. You can make an album for all the photos from a family vacation, or from a semester of school, or for someone’s birthday party — the possibilities are endless. You can add photos to that album all at once, or add a few and go back and add more later as you take them.
You can add an Facebook album no matter where you are. Here’s how to do it.

Facebook is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family, especially if they are interstate or overseas. Many of our clients enjoy Facebook, as they can see photos of their children and grandchildren. However, many people raise the concern of privacy.
How do you share photos with certain friends or family members without all your Facebook friends viewing it?
I just got back from a lovely trip to Mauritius. About 30 of us travelled over there to celebrate a friend’s wedding. As you can imagine, we all had our smartphones, and lots of pictures and selfies were taken on the trip. We needed a way to share our photos with each other, but keep them private amongst those who were on the trip.
Welcome to private albums on Facebook
- Log into your Facebook account, and visit your personal profile page
- Click on +Create Album
- Facebook will prompt you to choose a photo from your device to add to this album, so choose a photo or multiple photos to add
- Name your Album, and you can add a description for the album
- Click on Make Shared Album, and a field will appear. Type the names of the people that you would like to share this album with
- A privacy setting will appear next to the blue Post button, choose Contributors Only
Now you can try creating private albums, and invite certain people to share that album with.

Image-sharing via Google Photos is hard to beat. What’s more, the service/app is fully integrated with different social media platforms. It allows you to easily add photos and share them with other users.
The main focus of this article is adding Google Photos to a Facebook album, with a few tips and tricks on how to utilize more sharing options. Maybe you didn’t know, but you can share Google Photos to Snapchat as well.
Google Photos Sharing 101
There are two ways to add Google Photos to a Facebook album: via a browser or the Google Photos app. The actions differ slightly, so it pays to take a closer look at each method.
Browser Google Photos
Launch your preferred browser, log into Google, and select Photos from the drop-down menu. Find the images you’d like to add to Facebook and click the checkmark icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
Note: Clicking on the image itself opens the thumbnail in full screen. Do this if you want to add a single image to a Facebook album.
Repeat the process for each image and click the share icon; the first one on the right. Hit the Facebook icon in the pop-up window and choose “Continue to Facebook.”
Finally, choose the sharing destination from “Share to News Feed or Story” and click “Post.” One limitation of this method is that it doesn’t give you the option to add images to an existing album on your account.
Google Photos App
When it comes to adding images to Facebook, the Google Photos app is superior to its browser counterpart. To be exact, you get the option to choose which album you’d like to upload photos to. Here’s what you need to do.
Note: The method has been tested on iPhone 6S+ running iOS 13. The app layout may be different on Android but the actions are pretty much the same.
Launch the Google Photos app and navigate to the images you’d like to use. Tap the three horizontal dots to reveal the pop-up window and hit Select.
Tap the images you want to add and select the share/upload button (the first one in the upper right of the screen). Choose the “Share to” option from the pop-up window and tap the Facebook icon. iPhone users might not find the icon in the default carousel menu.
In that case, hit More, navigate down to Facebook under Suggestions, and tap on it. The same menu allows you to share Google Photos to LinkedIn, Slack, Snapchat, and other messaging apps.
Once the Facebook sharing windows pop up, tap on “+ Album” and select the one you’d like to add photos to. Of course, you can write a caption and choose who will be able to see the added images.
Other Sharing Options
As indicated, you can add Google Photos to an email and share images with your contacts. The actions are pretty much the same for the browser and the app, so we won’t include separate sections for both.
Find the images you want to use and select them, then click or tap the share icon. The pop-up window gives you a list of the most recent contacts or you can type an email into the recipient bar.
After you select the recipient, you can type a note in the “Say something” section. The recipient gets an email with an album/images preview and one click/tap takes the person to Google Photos to download or edit the images.
Aside from email-sharing, one of the most useful options is “Create link.” It generates a link for the photos you’ve selected and it’s easy to copy it to your clipboard, then share within an email, messages, or anywhere else you see fit.
Can You Add Facebook Albums to Google Photos?
The simple answer is yes, you can, but it might take more time and work than you’re willing to spare. That said, you can always right-click on individual images choose “Save as” and then upload them to Google Photos.
Another way to do it is via the “Download Your Information” option on Facebook. Click the arrow down in the upper right corner of the screen and select “Your Facebook Information” from the menu on the left. Click “Download Your Information,” deselect everything but Photos and Videos, and click on Create File.
After a few minutes, Facebook will notify you that the files are ready, hit Download, and open the zip file. Now, go to Google Photos, click the upload icon, and select Computer. Find the Facebook images file and select the photos/albums you’d like to upload.
Hit Thumbs up If You Like
Adding Google Photos to Facebook is a no brainer and you can do everything required via the smartphone app. In fact, it’s better to use the smartphone app because you get to add the images to a specific album.
How do you usually upload images to Facebook? Have you created an album that gets all the likes? Share your experience with us in the comments section below.
I was at this nice event with hundreds of people which are not my Facebook friends. Besides posting photos to Google Photos I made a smaller selection for Facebook so everybody can tag themselves and receive likes and such. I just did not want all my “friends” know that I created this album so I was thinking I upload it and upon finishing I change visibility to “only me”. Looked OK.
When done I changed the visibility to “public” and I noticed that on my timeline there is a post about this new album, so I clicked “hide on my timeline”. Not sure when it appeared there – if in the time I changed the album to public or before. Strangely Facebook asked me why I hid it, but it was my own post! So I hid it and posted a link to the album to the event page thinking only people attending to this event will see it, but no. Minutes later I started receiving likes from my friends who were not there.
Do you think there is a way to create a public photo album on Facebook silently?
1 Answer 1
You can not create publicly anything on Facebook silently.
Facebook gives the option of Audience selector by which yo can select the audience according to you.
In your case (as you said you don’t have them in your friend list), you can create an album and select audience as Only me and tag all the people who was present in that event (Or anyone whom you want to see this album, if you are not able to tag, just ask to tagged people to tag others if they know anyone).
So this album is only visible to you and all those people who are tagged in that.
Other thing is you can create a list (if they are in your friend list) and select custom audience and enter the list name or each name one by one (whom you want to show this album). So it will be visible to only those selected people. Remember in this case also it will be visible to those who are tagged in that pic or album.

- How to Make Photo Collages on Facebook
Facebook is adding an interesting new automatic collage feature, which appears when you share photos from your phone’s camera. When you tap the photos button, you’ll see automatically created collages based on the location and time you took them.
Depending on your purpose, you can create your own collage in 3 simple steps through a collage maker:
- Identify the correct dimensions
- Select a template
- Add photos of your choice
People on Facebook have notoriously short attention spans. They are using social media for entertainment and to keep up with their friends and family. If they don’t feel the content they’re looking at is accomplishing those things, they’re just going to keep scrolling or they will close the app. That’s why, as a brand, it’s extremely important you have the ability to connect with your audience quickly and tell your story.
Using our Free Online Collage Maker will allow you to communicate your brand story efficiently. By using a photo collage, you can help your audience understand a longer story with only a single glance, as opposed to counting on them to click through multiple photos in an album.
How to create a photo collage for Facebook is actually super easy, but you want to make sure you do it correctly. In this post, we’ll cover tips on how to make a photo collage for a Facebook cover photo, profile, and post so you can be sure you have all your bases covered. Before we dive in, for all of you here to create collages for personal social accounts – this is for you, too! Let’s get into details.
How Do You Make A Collage of Pictures on Facebook Cover
Most of the people on Facebook are going to engage with your content in their feeds, not on your profile.
But, the people that do visit your profile are extremely valuable. Think about it—they’ve just taken the time away from their newsfeed to check out your page, the home base of your brand on Facebook, so you definitely want to make a good impression, and your cover is a big part of that.
Here’s how to create a photo collage for a Facebook cover in three steps.
Step 1 – Get Your Dimensions Correct
Facebook covers are 820 x 312, so you’ll want to design your collage to that specification exactly so your collage will fit pixel-perfect inside Facebook.
Step 2 – Choose A Template
Next, you’ll want to use a template to get the layout right.
Templates make it easy to drag and drop your photos into place rather than have to manually layout each photo and frame. Check out our free collage maker and all the different templates—from a simple layout of just two photos to a more complex grid. Think about the story you want to tell and choose the photo grid that will help your audience visualize your brand story.
Step 3 – Add Your Photos
Now for the fun part—add your photos to your template. With Promo.com, it’s extremely easy to add photos and get them to fit into your collage perfectly.
Simply hit the “+” button and choose photos from your computer, cloud storage provider, or our library of thousands of photos.
You can search for topics that align with your brand, audience, and goals.
Once you get your photos inside the template, you can edit each one by clicking on the photo. You have options to zoom, rotate, and flip to get the perfect design.
There you have it—a pixel-perfect Facebook cover collage!
Note: If you really want to spice things up, you may want to try a video cover for Facebook. The Promo.com video cover tool allows you to get the right dimensions for your video and upload to Facebook, and it’s 100% free! You can also search our library of video clips to get the perfect footage for your brand.
How To Make A Collage For Facebook Profile Picture
Navigate to the free collage maker while logged into your Promo.com account. We suggest picking a template of the simpler grids without too many boxes. If you try to squeeze too many photos, many will show up too small for most people to see.
The process for this starts off the same as the steps illustrated above. Now that you have a killer Facebook cover collage in place, why not take that same technique over to your profile?
The size of your Facebook profile photo is 180 x 180 pixels. If you’re not sure what this will look like, you can always use our free image resizer tool to make sure you get the ideal look for your profile photo. Need a more comprehensive list of Facebook picture and video sizes? Check out this related post: The best social media image sizes: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more.
Next, let’s look at how to create photo collages that will go out into the Facebook Newsfeeds of your audience.
How To Create A Picture Collage For Facebook Posts
Head over to the free collage maker on Promo.com. Choose your template, add your photos (or select some from our massive library of stock photos), and customize each photo. You can resize photos, add text, filters, watermarks, and stickers to bring your brand to life on Facebook.
As we mentioned in the beginning of this post, the majority of people who engage with you or your brand will do so from their newsfeed, not your profile or Facebook page. That said, it makes sense to use collages in your Facebook posts so you can apply the same storytelling techniques we covered earlier to people who run across your content in their feeds.
Luckily, the process for making a photo collage for a Facebook post is basically the same as making one for a cover or profile. And the great news is that you can double dip—this method works both for posts for your personal profile or your branded page!
As marketers, we need to learn how to tell engaging stories in order to connect with our audiences. However, because of the nature of social media, we often have very little time, few characters, and small spaces to unfold our stories. Photo collages are a great way to get your message across quickly and efficiently via social media. Both seasoned pros and first-time newbies can use the collage maker with ease.
We hope this post has helped you take your photo collage skills to the next level.

When you upload photos with your Android or iPhone, snapshots are placed in the “Mobile Uploads” album in your Facebook profile. But what if you want to put them in a specific album? Here’s how.
Vice President of Content / CNET
Sharon Profis is Vice President of Content CNET.
When you upload mobile photos with your Android or iPhone, snapshots are placed in the “Mobile Uploads” album on your Facebook profile.
But what if you want to put them in a specific album, like your album of food photos, kids, or the one for travel? Here’s how:
Step 1. In the Facebook mobile app, go to your profile and head to the “Photos” tab. Tap to select the album where you’d like to place the photo.
Step 2. In the upper right, tap the camera button and choose to take a snapshot, or choose an existing photo from your library.
Step 3. Select the photo. Give it a caption, like “homemade soba noodles!”, then hit “Upload”. Once the upload is complete, the photo will land in the selected album, and your latest upload will show up in the News Feed.
Note: Although the screenshots in this slideshow were taken in the iPhone Facebook app, the same process applies to Android phones.
Facebook now allows you to select which album you’d like to upload a photo to using the iOS and Android app. Here’s how it works.

iOS users will have the ability to add a photo, or photos, to an existing album or create a new album during the upload process. Android users will only be able to upload photos to an existing album. Before uploading a photo, however, Android users can create an album by visiting the Photos tab from the menu and tapping on the plus sign. It’s an extra step, but with the same end result.
During the photo upload process, you will see a new album icon. Tapping on it will reveal the Facebook photo albums, allowing you to choose which album to upload the photo to. It’s that simple.
How to Make a Collage on Facebook
This should be easy, right? Yet all the different software, apps, and instructions out there make it seem anything but. Not to mention, the large majority cost money if you don’t want a watermark over your completed image.
So, what is the absolute simplest way to make a collage on Facebook? Without watermarks or hidden costs? It’s this:
On Your Phone, Download “Layout” from Instagram.
It’s a mobile app available for both Apple and Android — free on your device’s App Store.
It was created by the Instagram team (owned by Facebook) so it’s the quickest, most seamless tool out there.
Once you’ve opened the Layout app, on the bottom half of the screen, you’ll see your photos. Tap on the ones you want to include in your collage.
Near the top of the screen, you’ll see a horizontal list of different layout choices featuring your photos. Select the one you like best.
Then: “Save” and choose the option to publish to Facebook! Couldn’t be simpler.
Your Facebook Profile Photo: Is it 😍 or 😷?
Studies show that we can’t see pictures of ourselves objectively.
This makes us choose profile pics that look less attractive (or smart, authentic, fun, etc.) than we really are.
On Photofeeler, you can find out how your photos are *really* coming across — if you look attractive, smart, trustworthy, fun, confident, and more.
It can be tricky, but there are two ways to do it
What to Know
- In a browser: Select Photo/Video in your status update box, upload a photo, then select the plus (+) to upload more photos individually.
- To make a photo album: Hold down the Ctrl or Command key while choosing your photos to select multiple images.
- In the mobile app: Tap Photo in your status update box, choose your photos, then tap +Album if you want to create an album.
This article explains how to upload multiple photos to Facebook at once using a web browser or the Facebook mobile app.
How to Post Multiple Photos Using a Web Browser
You can upload and post multiple photos to Facebook from a web browser. Here’s how to do it on your computer:
Select Photo/Video in the status field either before or after you type a status, but before you select Post.
Navigate through your computer’s drive and select an image to highlight it. To select multiple images, hold down the Shift or Command key on a Mac, or the Ctrl key on a PC, while you select multiple images to post. Each image should be highlighted.
After you select Open, a Facebook status update box reappears showing thumbnails of the images you selected. Write a message in the status box if you want to say something about the photos.
To add more photos to the post, select the box with the plus sign.
Hover the mouse cursor over a thumbnail to either delete or edit a photo before posting it.
Review the other available options: tag friends, apply stickers, add your feelings or an activity, or check-in.
When you’re ready, select Share.
When you use this method, only the first five images show up in your friends’ News Feeds. They’ll see a number with a plus sign indicating that there are additional photos to view.
Creating an Album Using a Web Browser
The best way to post a large number of photos to Facebook is to create a photo album, upload multiple photos to that album, and then publish the album cover image in the status update. Friends who click on the album link are taken to the photos.
Go to the status update box as if you were going to write an update.
Select Photo/Video Album at the top of the update box.
Navigate through your computer’s drive and select images you want to post. To select multiple images, hold down the Shift or Command key on a Mac, or the Ctrl key on a PC, while you select multiple images to post to the album. Each image should be highlighted.
Select Open. An album preview screen opens with thumbnails of the chosen images and gives you the opportunity to add text and a location to each photo. Select the large plus sign to add more photos to the album.
In the left pane, give the new album a name and description, and view the other available options.
After you’ve made your choices, select the Post button.
Posting Multiple Photos With the Facebook App
The process of posting more than one photo with your status using the mobile Facebook app is similar to doing so on a desktop web browser.

Upload Or Post High Quality Photos On Facebook, Here’s How [Tips]
Ever wondered why your uploaded photos on Facebook doesn’t look half as good as the originals in your drive, camera or phone? This is because Facebook uses its own compression methods to save disk space when uploading your photos to the cloud.
While there’s no foolproof way of beating this compression on Facebook, What you can do however, is play by the rules and extract the best results possible. Here’s how.
Enable “High Quality” option when uploading new photos
Not many people are aware of this, but Facebook provides you with an option to upload high quality photos when creating a new album. This option is not enabled by default.
Step 1: To begin, simply create a new album via the Create Photo Album button easily accessible from Facebook’s Home page on the desktop version of the site.
Step 2: Now tick the check mark on the High Quality option when adding new photos to the album.
This will make sure that all photos uploaded to this album will be of considerably higher quality. However you should know that Facebook will still apply a certain level of compression to these photos, though it won’t be as bad as the default option.
Upload photos with 2048px width
If you upload a photo to Facebook with a width of 2048 pixels, you’ll find the quality of the upload to be noticeably better than normal. However this still does not in any way mean that no compression is applied. But the higher resolution can at least compensate for the compression by retaining a relatively higher photo sharpness.
Also, even when uploading photos with 2048px width, make sure you select the High Quality option as pointed out above.
Ideal dimensions for Cover Photo
For Cover Photo, Facebook recommends using photos in 851px (width) by 315px (height) dimensions. Anything less or more will not yield the ideal result you desire. So make sure you resize your photo to match this dimension before uploading to get the best possible result.
Reduce file size to 100KB
You can also avoid heavy compression on photos by Facebook by making sure the photo to be uploaded has file size of less than 100KB. You can do this yourself in any photo editing software of your choice.
You can follow us on Twitter, add us to your circle on Google+ or like our Facebook page to keep yourself updated on all the latest from Microsoft, Google, Apple and the Web.
Special events like holidays, weddings, and school reunions just beg to be captured in pictures—but organizing photos from friends and family after the event can be a pain.
It doesn’t have to be! Here are three easy ways to collect everybody’s photos and share them with all participants after your get-together is over.
The shared photo albums feature on Facebook.
If everyone at your event or party is on Facebook then it’s easy to create a photo album everyone can access and contribute to. Facebook introduced shared photo albums in August 2013.
Start by creating a photo album in Facebook as you normally would—don’t forget to check the High Quality box so that the pictures are uploaded in high resolution!—and then open the album from your profile page by going to Photos > Albums > [Album name].
Once the album is open, click the button in the upper-left corner that says Change to Shared Album. A pop-up window appears where you can add contributors and set the privacy settings for who can see the album.
Once you’ve got everything set-up click Save and you’re done. Now all event participants can contribute and view photos in the album.
The Dropbox and Send to Dropbox combo make it easy to create and share collaborative albums.
This tip comes courtesy of our friends at Macworld. For this trick to work you’re going to need two things: a Dropbox account and an email with the Send to Dropbox service.
If you’ve never heard of it, Send to Dropbox creates an email address connected to your Dropbox account. Anything that gets sent to that email address shows up in your attachments folder on Dropbox.
After you’ve got your Send to Dropbox email, just have everyone at the event send their pics to the Send to Dropbox address. Then you, as the receiver, will have to take all those received photos and drop them into a special folder created for the event.
Once the folder has some pics in it, just send everyone a sharing link so they can view the folder. The best part of this method is not everyone needs to be on Dropbox! All they need is an email account and a web browser to view the album.
Sharing an album with others on OneDrive.
Microsoft’s OneDrive has an easy way to allow multiple people to share and contribute photos to an album. Create a new folder in OneDrive, open it, and then click the “Details” pane icon in the upper-right corner. Next, click the Share folder link.
In the pop-up pane, under Invite people add the email addresses and a short note to the people you’re sharing the folder with.
Now click Recipients can only view, which is the default setting.
Two drop-down menus will appear. Change Recipients can only view to Recipients can edit and then decide whether or not to switch the second menu item from Recipients don’t need a Microsoft account to Recipients need to sign in with a Microsoft account.
Doing so will make it harder (but not impossible) for outsiders to access the folder; however, it also means everyone you share the folder with must have a Microsoft account. If you leave the second setting as-is (with no Microsoft account required), anyone you share the folder with can then forward the link to others via email. Those people—who you may or may not know—will easily be able to access and edit the folder. Whether that’s a pro or con depends on your perspective and needs.
Your Facebook albums are about to get an upgrade.
Facebook made several updates to albums, including improved collaboration tools. One of the new updates allows you to add videos, check-ins, text posts, and other forms of updates to albums in addition to photos.
The company has also redesigned the collaboration features and made it easier and more intuitive to add friends as contributors to albums.
You can also add featured albums to your profile that make them public so everyone can see them:
The update is out today for desktop and Android, with an iOS update coming soon. The increased collaboration features and overall focus on albums comes soon after Google Photos’ updates and increased success. Allowing users to add non-photo content is something that only Facebook can really do well, and can be an advantage over Google in the future.

Facebook is still the biggest social network in the world, with over 1.3 billion users. Most of them share photos and videos with other people, but Facebook doesn’t have a built-in feature for creating photo collages. However, there are many third-party apps you can use on your phone to put some really cool collages together and share them on your Facebook profile.
This article will highlight the best smartphone photo collage apps for iPhone and Android devices.
Use Third-Party Apps
If you want to upload a unique photo collage to your Facebook profile you’ll need to use a third-party app to create your collage then upload it to Facebook just as you would any other photo. Here are the best apps that will allow you to do that.
Photo Blend & Shape Collage Maker
If you own an iPhone, you can create some unbelievable photo collages with the Photo Blend & Shape Collage Maker app. There are many features you can use to create something unique. You can make collages in the shape of a heart, an eagle, or many other shapes.
The app allows you to add eight photos from your gallery and select the shape of the collage you want. The photos will be trimmed automatically to fit the frame. You can then edit the collage and adjust exposure and colors. You can find many grid layouts if you want a classic-looking collage. It’s simple to use, and the results will look great on your Facebook page.
Pic Collage is one of those collage apps you must have already heard about because it’s everywhere. It’s the ideal app if you are new to creating collages because it comes with on-screen instructions that will tell you everything you need to know.
The app lets you choose between a selection of grid layouts, but it also comes with a Freestyle feature that allows you to create your own frame. When you select the photos you want, you can add text, stickers, and create custom backgrounds. It comes with built-in templates for Instagram, but you can create some fantastic collages for your Facebook profile too. The app is available for both iPhone and Android users.
The best part of using Photo Grid is the creation process. The app allows you to create some cute-looking collages. All you have to do is to select the template of your collage and add the photos you want. The Scrapbook feature lets you add text, stickers, and backgrounds to make your collage stand out.
You can also choose the aspect ratio when creating a collage, which is especially useful for Instagram. The creation process is straightforward, and you can even change the borders of your collage when you add the photos. You can experiment with different layouts and features to put together the perfect collage for your Facebook profile. The app works on both Android and iPhone devices.
Layout is a simple photo collage maker made by Instagram. It is a basic collage maker without the extra features that can often seem a little confusing. It’s got a user-friendly interface, so you won’t even miss the additional features.
This app allows you to put a photo collage together quickly. Just select the photos you want and choose the layout of your collage. Slide them left and right to rearrange them and voila – your collage is complete! You can change the frame size so that it fits your Facebook profile perfectly.
The last step is to edit your design. You can replace a photo if you don’t like how it looks, but you can also use the “Mirror” and “Flip” tools to make some slight changes. The “Borders” tool allows you to change the layout. Hit “Save” when you are done and share the images directly to Instagram. The app works on Android and iPhones.
Unlike most other photo collage apps, PicStitch allows you to make video collages. You can even add your favorite tune, to tell your story right. Making video collages is done the same way you would create a photo collage. Drag the clip into a frame and use the video editor to trim your video.
You can also adjust the orientation and change the speed of the video. Add a filter to make the colors of your collage stand out. When you’re happy with your creation, hit “Done” and you can download it to your device. If you want to create a standard photo collage, you can choose many different templates and add stickers and text to your collages. Upload your creations to Facebook and watch those likes rain! PicStitch works on both Android and iOS devices.
Create the Perfect Collage for Your Facebook Profile
It’s hard to come up with something unique that will help your profile stand out on Facebook. However, creating a collage of photos will show everyone that you’re a creative person with fresh ideas, so you can use that to your advantage.
The apps we selected each have unique features you can use to create your Facebook photo collages. Find the one that fits your needs and experiment with the features to put together an exciting photo collage for your profile.
After creating a collage using any of these apps, you’ll need to download it to your phone. Once this is done, open Facebook, click the ‘Photo’ option, and select your custom image from your camera roll. Tag your friends, type a caption, use hashtags if you like, then click the option to post.
If you’re using an app that leaves messy watermarks after you download you can use your phone’s screenshot function and crop out the photo. This will save an undisturbed version of your image to your phone for better quality.
Choosing Your Facebook Layout
One of the newer Facebook features gives you the ability to choose your photo’s layout. While this isn’t a collage per se, it is another useful feature in your posting toolbox.
What makes a photo collage great isn’t just the ability to compress a bunch of images into one, it also gives the creator the ability to tell a story through photos. Rather than the standard tap an image and scroll down function, this allows you to swipe and slide to the next photo. Even more fun is the image preview.
You can choose one of the four available options before posting your photos. Simply tap the “Photo” option, select your images from your Gallery, and tap on one of the layouts available. As your friends, followers, and families scroll through their own Newsfeeds, they’ll all of your photos in one frame.

There are two easy ways to upload iPhone photos to Facebook. If you are on the go and want to load a picture or two from your iPhone, you can do this using the Facebook App. If you have a series of photos you wish to upload, it will be quicker to hook your iPhone up to a computer and load them over Facebook online.
1. Loading a Photo Directly from Your iPhone
The easiest method requires downloading the Facebook App to your iPhone. This is a great method of adding a picture if you are waiting in a line or on the subway and have some time to kill. The app will allow you to take a picture from the app itself or load pictures already taken and now saved in your camera roll.
Open the Facebook app by tapping the app icon (see above). From either your News Feed (picture below, left), or on your personal Timeline or Profile (pictured below, right), tap the word Photo. If you are unsure as to where you are, tap the box with the three lines in the top left corner, then and selecting your name or News Feed.
On this next screen, you have a choice. If you want to take a new picture (or record video) right now, choose Take Photo or Video. Or, if you previously took a photo with your iPhone, tap Choose From Library.
Take Photo or Video
The iPhone opens the camera app. To take a Photo, make sure there is a large camera icon button (pictured below, left). To record Video, make sure there is a red button (pictured below, right). Selecting between photos and video capture is easy — simply toggle the button in the bottom right corner back and forth.
After tapping the camera icon to take a photo, the Preview screen allows you to Retake a new picture or Use the the current photo. Option: tap anywhere on your picture to “Tag” your Facebook friends; when it asks “Who is this?”, type in friend’s name. Repeat for multiple faces in the photo.
If you Use your photo, or click Done after Tagging your friend(s), the next screen prompts you to Write a Caption or to Post. Option: Tap “Where was this taken? (pictured below, left) to “Geotag” your location. If you want to add a location, type it in manually, or (pictured below, right) the iPhone may name local places and business in your immediate area.
After writing something about your photo — and/or optionally Geo-taggin it — tap Post to upload your photo to your Facebook Timeline (or Profile).
Choose From Library
For those who already have a picture stored on their iPhone, tap Choose From Library. The screen will take you to your Library or Cameral Roll, where all of the photos you have stored on your phone are available for you to scroll through. Select the photo you want added to Facebook.
Similar to above, you will have the same options to Tag, Geotag, and Write a Caption. When you are done, simply tap Post to upload your photo to your Facebook Timeline (or Profile).
2. Loading Multiple Photos from a Computer
Adding pictures directly from your phone is easy and direct, especially when you do not have access to a computer. But sometimes you want to upload several pictures all at once or create a Photo Album of a special event. In this case, it’s best to plug your iPhone into your PC or laptop computer (or any computer with iTunes). Your computer will most likely open up a program that will automatically import all your iPhone photos onto the computer’s hard drive.
Next, use your computer’s web browser to access your Facebook account. Once here, you’ll see Add Photo (or Add Photo / Video) on just about every page you visit. At the top of your News Feed, above all your friends’ and like pages’ posts, it typically looks like this:
Clicking Add Photo / Video gives you a few options:
Inside Photos, you’ll see three tabs: Photos of You (pictures others have taken of you), Photos (all the individual photos you’ve uploaded), and Albums (all of your albums). Click Albums, where you can either Create a New Album or, after clicking on any previous Album, Add Photos. Then select your files and add all pertinent information as described above.

Facebook has officially rolled out the ability to add songs to Stories and News Feed posts. The social network started testing the feature with a small number of users in September. Now that it’s available to everyone, you’ll be able to access it by taking a photo or a video using the Facebook Camera (or by uploading one from your gallery), tapping on the sticker icon and choosing the music sticker. The social network will then show you a list of songs to choose from — pick one to load it and move the slider to the part of the track you want to use.
Your post will then show up on your account with a sticker that includes the track’s title and artist. Take note that you can change its placement and use other effects with it to personalize your photo or video. That’s not Facebook’s only music-related feature rollout: it’s also expanding Lip Sync Live’s availability. It’s now making its way to Pages, so if you’re an artist running a Page of your own, you can use it to perform for your fans on the platform. In addition, Facebook has started adding lyrics to the feature, making it easier for your to sing along.
Finally, Facebook will soon introduce a new music section for profiles that’s much more interactive than the current one. You’ll be able to add actual songs to your profile and even pin them to the top, so they can be the first thing a visitor sees. If someone plays it, they won’t only hear the song but also see its accompanying video that contains photos of the album it’s from and the artist behind it.

Do you desire a simple way to resell your items? Hold a virtual yard sale on Facebook. Bless your friends with great prices on things they might need, earn cash, and get rid of clutter– it’s win-win-win.
How I Created A Virtual Yard Sale On Facebook
I don’t know how many times in my life I have heard my friends say after I tell them what I sold at my yard sale, or on eBay, “Oh, I wish I would have known you were going to sell that, I would have bought it.”
So one day when I was getting ready for an upcoming Craigslist clear out, I decided to first take all the photos I had taken of the items and create virtual yard sale on Facebook.
(Links in this post are affiliate links. I will be compensated when you make a purchase by clicking those links. See my disclosure page for more information)
Steps To Creating A Virtual Yard Sale Using Facebook
1. Clean Your Items And Take Great Photos
This step is crucial for selling items fast and for top dollar. Make sure you take the photos in good light, with little in the background of the photo and from various angles (I was doing this for craigslist anyways).
2. Create An Album On Facebook And Upload Your Photos
The first time I did this I created an album labeled “Things Headed to Craigslist”. I later re-labeled the album “Virtual Yard Sale” and found I got more response–probably because it shouts “I am selling these items!” and you can get in on the deals better than the first title. You might want to be even more obvious and label the album “Items for Sale”.
I have seen some people create a group or event instead of an album but I think an album gets seen by more people. Those who are not interested in my items can simply scroll on by.
A new album can be made on both the desktop and the app versions of Facebook. They keep changing where it is offered so it might take a bit of hunting to find it. Currently, it is under the photo tab on your home page on desktop and in the app you will find it by clicking on the area where you would make a status update and then clicking the “album” tab in the top corner.
3. Describe Each Item In Great Detail
In the description area of each photo I added as many details about the items as I could think of including condition, measurements, age, brand, size, and price.
4. Share The Album More Than Once
I shared the album just once a day, at various times of the day, for an entire week. This way the album had a better chance of being seen by more people including the early risers, the afternoon “baby is napping time for a break” readers, and the night owls.
Each day I showed a different picture as its album cover. Each time I posted it I talked about the item on the cover in the text box above the shared post.
5. Keep The Album Current
When someone asks a question on your listing try as soon as you can to answer them. If something sells, take time to change the description to SOLD (and yes, do use all capitals) instead of taking it down right away so that it might catch the attention of more friends who might then look at what is left for sale.
The more comments and attention the album gets the more Facebook will show it in the Facebook feed, thus giving your items more chances of selling.
6. Set A Time Limit
If you shop “in-person” yard sales like I do you probably know about the awful perpetual yard sales. These are either sales where people put out the same stuff year after year or week after week if their subdivision will allow it.
Don’t be a perpetual virtual yard sale. Put in the album description on Facebook an end date for all sales. I usually let mine go on for a week, sometimes two, and usually by that time I have at least half my items sold if not more. I then give what is left a chance on Craigslist, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or in an in-person yard sale and after that it’s off to the thrift store they go.

The Benefits Of Selling Items To Facebook Friends
You know these people in real life so there are no worries about stranger danger.
There is a greater chance that you cross paths with these people in real life throughout your week, which makes arranging an exchange of the item for cash easier.
The Drawbacks Of Selling To Facebook Friends
Some people on Facebook do get irritated by selling posts. To avoid ruffling feathers of friends who dislike sales, keep your selling photos to one album and don’t share it more than once a day. Also, don’t create a different album every week of the year. I would suggest creating a virtual yard sale album no more than twice a year.
Another drawback is that haggling with friends can be awkward. I tend to price my items a little lower for Facebook friends than I would on eBay or Craigslist because they are saving me the hassle of listing and shipping or arranging meetups. In the description area of the item, I write firm after the price, which eliminates awkward haggling with friends.

About Our Custom Photo Books
Tell your story, your way with our line of premium quality photo books and albums. Featuring a variety of sizes and styles to suit your occasion, each is crafted using high quality, eco-conscious materials that set us apart from your average photo book maker. Whether a softcover or hardcover, we source premium paper from Mohawk — the longest-running family-owned paper mill in the nation — for every photo album book we print. One of the most sustainability-minded paper producers in the world, this storied mill is dedicated to responsible production processes. We continue to partner with them for their commitment to sourcing non-virgin pulp, reducing water waste, using recycled materials, and powering it all via renewable energy.
But recycled paper is just the beginning. Each of our personalized photo albums is printed using the press printing method, rather than the environmentally harmful silver halide method that is traditionally used by most companies. By rendering photos through a series of tiny dots, this process minimizes our impact on the environment and allows us to formulate our own unique color profile on press. The increased ability to fine-tune color curves results in a warm and pleasant aesthetic that elevates every image. After all, we believe the best photo books are born in the details.
Nervous about the process of making photo books online? It’s easy to create a photo book using our desktop editor, which gives you multiple options for uploading your photos, allowing you to sync them from your computer, Dropbox, or Instagram. To help you create custom photo books, we’ve also published a number of helpful resources. Check out our guide to scanning old photos, our roundup of photo book ideas, or our step by step guide that shows you how to make a photo book. For those putting their best day in print, we also offer a selection of premium wedding albums.
Depending on which book style you select, your custom photo book will be ready in 3-10 days plus shipping time. One of our favorites is the Layflat Photo Album, inspired by our favorite heirloom albums and renowned for ultra-thick pages that lay flat when open. Handcrafted with a plant-based linen cover that is hand-stamped in gold, copper, white, or black foil, each page of this flush mount photo book is hand-mounted. Choose between the lustre or eggshell finish for a book you’ll want to pass down through generations. All you need is as few as 10 of your favorite photographs to get started.

What Our Customers Are Saying About Our Photo Albums
“I have created several photo books with my own photos and Mixbook’s stickers, themes, etc. Mixbook’s product is expertly produced! I suggested they add a spell check to their website since I discovered a spelling error after receiving my book. Mixbook responded by reprinting my book for free allowing me to correct the error. Wow! How great is that?!” – Dee
“They always produce great quality products, I have used them to make photo books, cards and calendars.” – Deborah
“First time using I had a great time using the templates provided. Pictures that are downloaded appear to the left and disappear when they are used. I had some pictures that were only slightly different from one another. My one suggestion would be that if the pictures that are currently in the book could be grayed out or have a check by them so you knew what was in the book already. I am very happy with the finished project.” – Kristine
“Mixbook is the absolute best. Their photo books are amazing!! They are extremely high quality and such a wonderful keepsake! Mixbook also has the BEST customer service! They are not happy or satisfied with their product unless their customers are 100 percent satisfied!” – Sarah S.
